Project Description

​

Anpu Cholai Preschool will replace the make-shift temporary structure that the children have been learning in since returning to the post-war villages in 2009.  The preschool will provide a safe environment for the children to thrive in as they embark on the early stages of their education.  With an open design, the children have space to gather, learn and play together while allowing for differentiated learning in the two classrooms.  The sloped roofs provide protection from the heavy rains and shade during warm days.  The raised floors prevent flooding in the classrooms while creating integrated seating areas in the communal courtyard.  The perforated brick walls and slated doors and windows provide natural ventilation and light.  Anpu Cholai Preschool provides a safe environment to empower children through education and skills training.

Project Responsibilities

​

• Research into culturally and environmentally important elements that need to be implemented into the project.

• Research into the local and regional building codes if any are applicable and the building materials available within budget and accessible to the site.

• Project fundraising material to compliment the existing fundraising video.

• Coordination with international clients and team members across three countries.

• Project deliverables within 6 weeks from yield analysis to schematic design.  Design development and construction documents pending procurement of official site.
